Speaking of school, I aced my math final which gives me an "A" overall in the class. Tomorrow I start my Freshman Composition course. Should be a lot of fun. I've already looked over the syllabus and some of the topics we'll be discussing are quite controversial which, as most of you would know, is right up my alley.
I continue to excell in my American Sign Language class. In about three weeks, I'll be attending what's called a "Silent Weekend" for one of my required 'deaf community events'. Basically, it's a fully immersed environment. For 48 hours, I will be fined a nickel every time I speak and will be attending multiple workshops which will help me to better understand the Deaf experience. I'm so excited. Even better, one of my classmates will be accompanying me so, I won't be going it alone. Not that it would be an issue if I were but, having a friend along to experience something new with always makes everything seem much more rich.
In addition to that trip, the folks over at the Silent Weekend are the hosts for what is called, "Deaf Kids Kamp" which is held during the summer for one week. They are currently looking to fill a girls' counselor position. It's volunteer work but, it would be so amazing to be a part of something like that - especially with my decision to focus my education in that direction. The only requirement that I'm hesitant about is having to know ASL. So, I simply wrote to inquire how fluent I would have to be in order to participate. Who knows, maybe ASL 1 will be sufficient.
Never hurts to ask, right?
Well, that's about it for updates. I'm just the usual busy, busy bee that is me. Hope all is well in your worlds.

For now we see as through a glass, darkly; but then face to face: now I know in part; but then shall I know even as also I am known.
